Interactive Brokers releases January 2024 performance metrics

Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. released its monthly Electronic Brokerage performance metrics for January 2024, demonstrating strong growth and stable financial metrics.

 

The firm reported Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) of 2.201 million, an 11% increase compared to the same period last year and a significant 12% increase compared to the prior month. In addition, the firm recorded a total ending client equity of $424 billion, a significant increase of 26% compared to the same period in the prior year and stable compared to the prior month.

 

The closing balance of client margin loans was $44.3 billion, an increase of 12% year-on-year (YoY) and stable compared to the previous month. In addition, client credit balances, including $3.8 billion of insured bank deposit sweeps, amounted to $102.5 billion. Although this represented a slight decline of 2% compared to the previous month, it was still 3% higher than the previous year.

 

The firm reported a significant growth in the number of client accounts, which totaled 2.63 million, a significant increase of 23% compared to the same period last year and a modest 2% increase compared to the previous month. On average, clients executed 190 annualized average cleared DARTs per account.

 

The average commission per cleared commissionable order is $3.03, which includes exchange, clearing, and regulatory fees. It is worth noting that for futures (including options on futures), the estimated exchange, clearing, and regulatory fees represent 56% of the futures commissions.

 

It was reported earlier that Interactive Brokers' fourth-quarter 2023 financial report showed impressive growth in key areas for the company. The net income soared to $1.139 billion, a significant increase from the previous year. In addition, pre-tax income also rose sharply to $816 million, reflecting a strong financial performance.
