CME Group's ADV Reaches Record 26.5M Contracts in April

CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, has released its April 2024 market statistics, with a new average daily volume (ADV) record of 26.5 million contracts for the month, up 33% from April 2023. 

 

The Group also saw double-digit growth across all asset classes. Interest rate, equity index, foreign exchange (forex), and options products set new April ADV records:

 

- Record April Interest Rate ADV of 12.6 million contracts, an increase of 37% year-on-year (YoY) from April 2023;

- Record April Equity Index ADV of 7.6 million contracts, an increase of 36% YoY;

- Record April Foreign Exchange ADV of 988,000 contracts, with EBS Spot FX average daily notional value (ADNV) increasing 16% YoY to $61.2 billion.

- Record April Options ADV of 5.7 million contracts, an increase of 33% YoY.
