German Financial Regulator BaFin Warns A Clone of Pepperstone
Germany's Federal Financial Authority (BaFin) issued a warning on Tuesday (May 21) alerting the public to beware of "identity theft" impersonating Pepperstone.
The cloned entity is said to be using the website pepperstone.vip to illegally provide financial services. According to information obtained by BaFin, the financial and investment services offered on the site are unauthorized.
The regulator emphasized that Pepperstone GmbH (Pepperstone), a licensed financial services provider, does not operate this website.
Pepperstone is an online forex and CFDs broker that complies with regulatory regulations in several regions and countries around the world.
As Germany's financial regulator, BaFin issues warnings against unauthorized businesses, reminding local investors to avoid dealing with unlicensed financial service providers and financial losses. Last month, BaFin warned against a total of 17 unlicensed forex brokers.
