Capital.com Appoints John Austin as Chief Strategy Officer

London-based currency pairs and CFDs broker Capital.com has appointed John Austin as the new chief strategy officer of StoneX Group Inc, a global brokerage.

Previously, John was Lead strategy specialist of StoneX. With this promotion, he will be responsible for implementing strategic direction, fostering innovation, and driving initiatives to drive Capital.com's growth.

John brings deep expertise to Capital.com from his profound experience in the financial industry. He also holds an MSc in Financial Engineering from London Business School and an MA in Empirical Psychology from Cambridge.

Previously, he spent over two years at LMAX Group, the leading independent operator of currency pairs and cryptocurrency trading, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer and was responsible for several institutional currency pairs and cryptocurrency strategy projects.

John also accumulated over eight years of experience at IG Group, a leading global retail FX and CFD broker. He served as Chief Analyst Officer before being promoted to Chief Strategy Officer of the Group.

He led the design and launch of Spectrum, IG's securitised derivatives multilateral trading facility in Frankfurt. In addition, he was a member of the IG Group Executive Committee for five years.

In 2012, he joined Nadex as an executive and left after more than eight years. This is a Chicago-based retail derivatives exchange and clearing house.
