These Telegram Groups Are Scamming Malaysian Investors Out of Money

Have you ever noticed a strange group appearing on your Telegram or WhatsApp, with members discussing incredible investment opportunities? Or perhaps you've seen ads on Facebook promising lucrative returns? Be cautious—these are likely scams.

These days, almost everyone uses social media platforms. With such a vast user base, scammers lurk in the shadows, enticing you to 'invest' in their elaborate traps.

Suffian founded and joined the investment group 'Sahabat Master Binary' on Telegram after seeing an investment ad on Facebook.

In the group, he saw an investor make a fortune and couldn't resist seizing the investment opportunity presented by the group admin. However, he didn't realize it was a performance orchestrated by scammers, designed to create the illusion of a seemingly profitable investment scheme.

Suffian deposited RM1,000 and transferred RM1,500 for a 'withdrawal.' Eventually, he realized it was a scam after reading about similar cases shared by other victims and ceased all contact with the criminals.

Unfortunately, a similar incident occurred with another investor, Roslee.

Roslee wasn't sure when the group 'Mys_tradenewn' appeared on his phone, but he was drawn to the investment scheme shared in the group as he was seeking ways to earn additional income.

Though the scammer claimed that his account had earned a profit, not a single penny was withdrawn. Instead, Roslee was repeatedly asked for additional fees.

In the end, Roslee lost RM1,500 to the fraudulent trading platform.
