Markets.com, a global trading and investing brand owned by Finalto Group, has appointed Matan Shvili as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Shvili brings over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry to the company. Before the latest appointment, he had a seven-month stint as the Group Commercial Director at Finalto.

Earlier, Shvili spent more than nine years at Markets.com before parting ways in late 2017. Then, he worked on the business development side of the company. He later founded and led a couple of other companies over the years, which include a business formation company and a real estate firm.

"We are delighted that Matan has agreed to return to Markets.com as CEO, he brings with him a unique set of skills, perspective, knowledge and most importantly the belief that anything is possible. I believe these attributes will lead Markets.com into a very exciting future,"Liron Greenbaum, the COO at Finalto Group, said.

"We have great expectations for the future of Markets.com, and we believe Matan has the right vision to take us forward. 2022 is going to be a busy and exciting year,"said Ron Hoffman, the CEO at the Finalto Group.

Earlier this year, Playtech entered into an agreement for the sale of its financial trading division Finalto to Gopher Investments for cash consideration of US$250 million. The completion of the transaction is expected in the first half of 2022, subject to the approvals by Playtech shareholders and regulatory agencies.

Let's recall that, on 26 May 2021, Playtech announced it had entered into a transaction with a consortium led by Barinboim Group and backed by Leumi Partners Limited and Menora Mivtachim Insurance Limited.

Whereas, Hong Kong-based Gopher Investments made a $250 million offer for Finalto on July 2. After that, Playtech's board has unanimously concluded that the agreement reached with Gopher should be recommended to shareholders and that shareholders vote in favour of the transaction at the General Meeting.
