Australian Financial Regulator Extends Financial Adviser Registration Again
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) announced on September 20 that it further extended the registration date for financial advisers who provide personal advice on relevant financial products to retail clients to February 1, 2024.
ASIC explained that the further extension of the registration deadline is due to the Treasury Laws Amendment (2023 Measures No.1) remaining before parliament.
In November 2022, the Australian financial regulator required relevant financial advisers to register by July 1, 2023, and then in May extended the registration deadline by three months to October 1.
