Telegram investment scam groups are not rare to see in Malaysia. An investor reported that she was scammed out of RM6,000 in an investment group called “Pakar-Pelaburan”.
The victim, Azureen Mehra, was looking for a job on the internet, but accidentally found an investment group.
She was convinced that the investment opportunity discussed in the group was highly lucrative and felt fortunate to have discovered it. Her goal was to increase her income, much like her motivation for seeking a job.
Scammers pretended to be other investors in the group.
According to the introductory chart provided by the group administrator, the investment scheme claimed to have a staggering 95% chance of generating a profit. Moreover, investors were assured that they could begin earning returns in only three hours. Notably, the scammer promised that an initial investment of RM500 could yield RM10,000, an astonishing return of 2,000%!

Mehra transferred RM3,000 to the bank account provided by the scammer. Shortly after, the administrator informed her that her account had generated earnings, but to withdraw the funds, she would need to pay an additional RM3,000 in so-called “offshore transaction fees.”
Mehra paid the requested fee and mentioned it to her friend, who quickly recognized it as a scam and told her to stop.
The financial trading market is full of risks, and no broker can promise guaranteed profits to their clients, let alone lucrative returns in a short period.
